This is a brief description of the general process I use when taking on a new client.

Initial Consultation: I will visit you in your home or office so that we can discuss ideas and objectives for your project. It gives you an opportunity to meet me, see my fee schedule and understand how I work with a client. This is a good time for you to show me any magazine photos, blueprints or fabrics that will influence the design work.

Second Consultation: After the first meeting, I will send you a proposal outlining everything we talked about and the proposed ideas for each room. I will also outline the specific charges that will relate to your project. If you agree and endorse the proposal, I will revisit your home or office to measure and photograph the interior spaces that we plan to decorate.

Presentation of Ideas: I will continue to meet with you to go over the floor plans I have developed and show you fabric swatches, upholstery ideas, pictures of furniture and lighting. Depending upon the complexity of the scheme, we can establish a timeline for the finished work. Unless the furniture is purchased off the floor of a showroom or store, most orders can take a minimum of 8-12 weeks to complete and 2 weeks for delivery.

Floors: I like to begin by choosing the flooring. It may be carpeting, area rugs, hardwood or tile, but I find that, in most cases, it provides a structured basis for continuing the work.

Color and Fabric: The next step is to add the upholstered furniture, window treatments and cabinets. Fabric, textures and color will establish the warmth and luxuriousness of the room. Then it is time to have the walls covered with paint, paper or fabric. The finish on the walls pulls the entire look together.

Tables: At this stage it is time to add the tables and small furniture pieces. Once strategically placed throughout the room, they will punctuate the design to make it fully functional.

Accessories: The accessories provide the finished touches for the room, by personalizing it. Accessories include artwork, lighting, tabletop d¹cor, plants and other interesting items that bring additional character to the space.
